NoMBe's video: NoMBe - Happy Birthday Frank Official Music Video

"Happy Birthday, Frank!" is the final song from my latest album, CHROMATOPIA that dropped earlier this year. This classical piece is something I’ve worked on continuously for over 5 YEARS, but eventually, I hit a wall and was never quite able to figure out the individual parts. That was until I was hired to play piano for Frank Ocean’s 30th bday - a day before the event. I was so damn nervous and stayed up all night working out the arrangement. At one point I fell asleep on the keys, but alas it was the deadline I needed. Up until that point it had mostly been in my head for all these years. My team always says.I’m a perfectionist to a fault: good things get shelved, beaten to death, re-written..sometimes 4-5 times or having 10 verses to a song. I’ve made 120 versions of a single track more than once. I wish it were different, but giving up at 98% feels like a major let down to me. With this one, I’m happy it finally created the right bookend for CHROMATOPIA. The classical themes take me back to my childhood, the nervousness, anxious waiting behind the curtain.
