North Lanarkshire Child Payment Our new North Lanarkshire Child Payment to support the families of 10,000 children in our area has been launched. We will pay £100 to families of children who receive free school meals because of low family income. The council chose to use the Financial Insecurity Support funding from the Scottish Government to provide this direct support to families during the pandemic. Payments will be made automatically direct into your bank account in the last week in January, and you do not need to apply. However, if you have not received the payment by mid-February, please email NLChildPayment@northlan.gov.uk. If your circumstances have changed recently, and you would like to apply for your child to receive a free school meal, please visit our website on: https://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/.../free-school-meals This payment is only for families who qualify through low incomes, and not for families with children in P1-P3 who automatically qualify for free school meals through universal provision.
