In the late 1980's it was decided that the Guildhall in Northampton was no longer large enough to accommodate the services provided by Northampton Borough Council. An extension was needed and the only land available to accommodate it required the closing of the private car park next to the guildhall and the demolition of the social club that stood on part of the site. In this film we show the soon to be closed car park as it was in December 1989.
