Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust's video: Girton Grassland

@Girton Grassland
Girton Grasslands is a fine example of a Trent Valley floodplain meadow. It is an especially important and rare type of grassland because it supports ‘Mesotrophic Grasslands 4’ or MG4, which draws its nutrients from floodwater. This helps to give the grasslands its unique properties, enabling them to support a specific range of common and rare wildflowers, as well as invertebrates, birds and mammals.
