Produced by Dwayne Johnson, the Rock has delivered an homage to the sport of wrestling and the story of a dedicated, passionate wrestler who made Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch possible. But beyond the WWE stars of Raw and Smackdown, there’s a much wider world of indie wrestling to wrestle with, and it shares a lot of commonalities with anime, comics, and superheroes. From the high-flying action of lucha libre to the hard-hitting strong style of New Japan, NJPW, wrestling is a diverse, vibrant art form that nerds everywhere need to check out.
