OCCTV's video: Wuhan coronavirus in Japan Shortage of face mask in Tokyo and Chiba updates

@Wuhan coronavirus in Japan | Shortage of face mask in Tokyo and Chiba | updates
January 29, 2020 Tokyo, Japan There is a shortage of supply of surgical masks in Tokyo and cities nearby as people rush to get them to protect themselves from the novel coronavirus (nCoV). This happened a day after Japan's health ministry announced that a Chinese woman who visited Hokkaido on January 21st has been confirmed infected by the new coronavirus. Among the seven confirmed cases in Japan, at least one of them contracted the virus despite having not visited the central Chinese city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak. High-end washable face masks are in great demand. In Japan, hand-made masks are being sold at $120 per piece. Masks are also sold out at the Online store of Amazon Japan. Overpricing were also found particularly for N95 mask. Manufacturers of surgical and N95 masks are now boosting their production in China to meet the increasing demand. Chinese nationals in Japan buy boxes of masks which they send back to their family in China. Instead of buying more souvenirs, Chinese tourists take home boxes of masks. Canada, Hongkong, and US also reported shortage of N95 masks supply. As death toll rises to 132 in China, Japan Ministry of Health officials told residents to protect themselves from second and third generation infection because the virus has high rate of human-to-human transmission. Some professors and officials in some universities in Japan are also advising their students on vacation in China to delay their travel back to Japan or subject themselves to self-quarantine upon arrival. Universities ask their students to immediately report any flu-like sickness to health staff. A chartered airplane carrying Japanese repatriated from China has arrived in Japan. Two of these evacuees showed pneumonia-like symptoms. They are now under quarantine and being treated. Nikuman News
