Rep. Tom Emmer *R-MN), Chair of RNCC, Message to 2020 Free Iran Summit, July 17-20. Hi everyone. My name is Tom Emmer and I represent Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District. I’m excited to be part of your annual summit and I stand with your mission for a free and democratic Iran. We have common ground in our shared pursuit, to guide our governments by the principles of their people. In addition, I was proud to cosponsor a resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives which condemns Iranian state-sponsored terrorism and expresses our support for the Iranian people’s desire for a democratic nonnuclear Republic of Iran. I’m also encouraged by the passage of a resolution in January which supports the right to freedom of expression for the people of Iran and condemns the Iranian regime for its crackdown on legitimate protests. I look forward to the day when all Iranians have the freedom of expression without living in fear. Thank you for your hope for a free Iran and for all your hard work to make it a reality.
