He was born on July 14, 1954, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Sarathkumar has acted in numerous Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films throughout his career, earning recognition for his versatile performances. Before entering the film industry, Sarathkumar worked as a journalist and made his acting debut in the 1986 Tamil film "Samrajyam." He gained popularity for his roles in action films and went on to establish himself as a leading actor in the 1990s. Some of his notable movies include "Nattamai," "Suryavamsam," "Paattali," and "Kanchana." Apart from his successful acting career, Sarathkumar has also ventured into politics. He founded the All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi (AISMK), a political party based in Tamil Nadu, and has been actively involved in politics since the late 1990s. He has served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Tamil Nadu and has held positions in various political parties.
