Office of Lorena Gonzalez's video: Lorena Gonzalez and Workers Celebrate the Start of Her Earned Sick Days Law

San Diego — (Dec 3, 2015) — California State Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez (D-San Diego) held a press conference in the City Heights neighborhood of San Diego to announce that as of July 1, 2015, private sector workers in the Golden State will start accruing at least 24 hours or three paid sick days a year. The change was made possible when Gov. Jerry Brown in 2014 signed Assembly Bill 1522, authored by Assemblywoman Gonzalez.
