Office of Lorena Gonzalez's video: Lorena Gonzalez Urges Approval of Voting Modernization Bond

Sacramento -- (May 23, 2017) -- California State Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher (D-San Diego) and Secretary of State Alex Padilla were joined by Los Angeles County Clerk Dean Logan and California League of Women Voters President Helen Hutchison at a state capitol news conference to urge approval of the Voting Modernization Bond Act of 2018. The bond, known as Assembly Bill 668, calls for $450,000,000 in bonds be issued to pay for upgrading voting systems in California’s 58 counties. Additionally, AB 668 will also fund critical innovations to improve voting access for Californians like early voting options, same-day voter registration, vote centers, language access, disability access and cyber security. “Voting is the most important right we have.,” said Assemblywoman Gonzalez Fletcher. “Many of our state’s voting systems are approaching the end of their operational life and need to be replaced.” Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
