Sacramento -- (Tuesday, May 28, 2013) -- Lorena Gonzalez (D-San Diego) was sworn in today as the Assemblywoman for the 80th District, which includes portions of the cities of San Diego, Chula Vista and National City in southern San Diego County. Gonzalez will fill the vacant seat left by Ben Hueso, who was elected to the state Senate. "I am humbled to have the opportunity to serve our community in this new role," said Gonzalez. "I am anxious to get to work to help ensure all Californians have the opportunity to pursue good-paying jobs that allow people to take care of their families and create a better future for their children."
