Today is the 22nd anniversary of me being the 2nd Black Woman to be crowned . It makes me proud that I'm a part of history but most proud that I was able to help change the perception of Black Beauty globally during a time that black women were not necessarily considered beautiful especially dark skinned Black women. I felt my win was for a people and not just me. I also have to acknowledge the iconic incomparable @VWOfficial for being the first Black American beauty queen and my friend who was the first Black Miss USA and who broke those barriers down for me and @janellcommission who was the first Black Miss Universe and others after to be able to have the platforms we have TODAY and the many others I can name. WE, collectively, will always be relevant. we paved the way. I just want everyone today like @gabunion @kerrywashington @lupitanyongo @tyrabanks @the_real_iman and all my sisters to keep changing the world. I win, You win means We ALL Win
