Oglio's video: The Man in the Moon by The Fellowship

@The Man in the Moon by The Fellowship
The Man in the Moon from the album "In Elven Lands (second edition)" by The Fellowship, available now from the Apple iTunes Store and Amazon.com. This is an instrumental version of our setting of "The Man in the Moon" song which appears in J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Fellowship of the Ring," Book 1, Chapter IX, At the Sign of the Prancing Pony. Tolkien's song shares its metre with a kind of English drinking song called a "John Barleycorn." Professor Tolkien wrote three different poems about the Man in the Moon and created an Elvish myth for him as well. Our arrangement includes "capers" an instrumental section between verses, intended for a leaping dance step, which could account for Frodo leaping around while singing the song at The Prancing Pony Inn. For more information visit inelvenlands.com. This digitally re-mastered version of the song is only available on the Second Edition of the album from Oglio Records.
