In one piece vivi is a great example of political writing done right. Vivi not only has a very interesting character arc where she tries to save alabasta rom Crocodile, one of the seven warlords of the sea, but she also has the necessary traits to become a great leader. In one piece alabasta is the first arc that introduces politics into the manga and thus expands the one piece world immensely.
