The Minolta Super A is a fully mechanical, interchangeable lens rangefinder from the late 1950’s.
Shutter speeds: B, 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 400.
Lens: Chiyoko Super Rokkor 5cm (50mm) F/2 ; 2, 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16, 22
Film: 35mm
Viewfinder: Rangefinder. Entire frame for 35mm. There are frame lines for 50mm. For other focal lengths, there are external viewfinders with parallax correction dials.
Available lenses:
Rokkor 35mm f3.5 - 4 elements. Nearest focusing distance 3.3 ft.
Rokkor 50mm f2 - 7 elements. Nearest focusing distance 3.3 ft.
Rokkor 50mm f2.8 - 5 elements. Nearest focusing distance 3.3 ft.
Rokkor 85mm f2.8 - 5 elements. Nearest focusing distance 5 ft
Rokkor 100mm f3.8 5 elements. Nearest focusing distance 7ft
There is no inbuilt light meter but any external meter can be used. Also Minolta makes a bespoke light meter for the Super A which is coupled with the shutter speed.
The Minolta Super A can sync with flash at all available speeds, but all settings must be correctly set.
