In this video, I discuss the best drum loop under the sun, a sexy descendant of the beat used in "Impeach The President" by the Honey Drippers. The beat I love was first used in "Mr. Loverman" by Shabba Ranks in the early 1990s (at 87 bpm), and was sampled in dozens of other songs later in life, by other artists in various genres, such as Alanis Morrissette, Meredith Brooks, David Benoit, the Yoshida Brothers, Marc Antoine, Michael Conn, Mylene Farmer, Marta Sanchez and others. I like to use that loop in my own beats too. And I would love to hear other songs that use that beat.
