Rhassoul is a clay (like bentonite) while shikakai powder is a plant extract that contains saponins. These are two natural methods to cleanse the hair. I didn't add oil because I wanted to measure the effet of the clay/powder ONLY on my hair. I left the shikakai mask for 5min and the rhassoul mask for 10min. Results : I found that rhassoul clay is gentle on the hair compared to shikakai powder. Also it defines the curls better. Shikakai is dryer to the hair but gives more volume. The price is roughly the same around $5 for 250g of product. You can use rhassoul on a regular basis. To clarify, only use shikakai and water. For a more gentler cleansing, add the oil of your choice.
