The race for the moon began in 1950s. It intensified in 1960s and cooled down in 1970s. The world has sent 146 moon missions and almost 100 of these were sent in initial 30 years, which was primarily due to competition between USA and SOVIET UNION. Now, the race is intensifying again and one country is very much interested in this is — CHINA. In past 16 year, world sent total 16 missions, half of these were sent by China. This may be beginning of another space race — US vs China! Bharat is also running in this race. We started in 2008 and its our third mission now. We work with a fraction of budget as compared to what USA and China spend on their space programs, still our scientists keep surprising the world with their talent.
