@Should I Have My Wisdom Teeth Extracted? - Oral Care Club
Should I Have My Wisdom Teeth Extracted? Founder of Oral Care Club, Dr Jim Ellis, discusses whether it's a requirement to have wisdom teeth extracted. http://www.oralcare.club Do you need to get your wisdom teeth extracted? The answer is; it depends. Are your wisdom teeth coming in straight? If your wisdom teeth are coming in straight, and there's enough room in your jaw to house these teeth, then absolutely not. you can leave them in there. The problem is that most people don't have enough room in their jaw. For many, the teeth are trying to come up, and they are running into bone and they're running into other teeth, and they become impacted. This puts pressure on other teeth and and can create pain behind the back molars. If that is the case for you, then you do need to get them taken out. If these teeth never start to come out and never start to create pressure, then you do not need to get them removed. In fact, having the surgery when there is no problems can actually cause more issues. How do you know whether they should be removed? You need to start getting x-rays on the teeth around age 15 to determine if those teeth are going to get stuck, if they are going to devlop down into the nerve, or cause other issues. Either way, a dentist should be looking into this around 15-16 to see if they are going to cause any issues.
