This is the fifth episode in a 9 part series on the making of this custom guitar. This is a design that I have named the Minotaur, and it was originally inspired by the Gibson Explorer. This episode covers the routing of the control cavities and prepping the neck for the nut install. The top is Ebony (the seller didn't list an exact species, but I suspect it is Gaboon Ebony), the neck is Padauk, the body is White Limba (also known as White Korina), and the fretboard is Pale Moon Ebony. The pickups are EMG 81 in the bridge position and EMG H in the neck position. All hardware is from Schaller, in their Vintage Copper finish. Episodes of this build series will go up once per week, with a demo of the guitar being played, as well as a full length build video going up after the series is complete.
