We need you to . You might not know this person, but someone you know might, so please UNIDENTIFIED: White Female, found in Multnomah County, Oregon FOUND: May 31, 2009 50-60 years old Long, curly, graying brown hair in a 12-inch braid 5’3” tall Approximately 160 pounds NAMUS Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Case Case Investigator: Sergeant Lee Gosson Lee.Gosson@mcso.us Multnomah County SO Tip Line: 503-988-0560 On May 31, 2009 in the early afternoon, the badly decomposed body of an adult Caucasian female was discovered by boaters in the Willamette River near Swan Island. The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and the body was recovered and brought to the State Medical Examiner’s Office. The woman appeared to be between 50 and 60 years old, with long, curly, graying brown hair. She was wearing her hair in a single 12-inch braid down her back, which was secured by a turquoise colored elastic band. She was approximately five foot three inches tall, and weighed approximately 160 pounds. Her clothing was distinct and would categorize this individual as full-figured. Her lace-top bra was “Exclusive” brand, size 46DD. The hooded sweatshirt found with her was baby blue in color with white trim around the hood and kangaroo pocket. It also had white trim around the ends of both sleeves. What really makes this woman distinctive is her jewelry. She wore a distinctive ring on her right hand and several bracelets on her left and right wrists. She also wore two different necklaces, and her ears were pierced. We recovered the following pieces of jewelry from her body, and we are hoping someone recognizes one of the pieces and calls with any information: • On right ring finger: gold ring with red middle stone, either Marquise-cut or pear-cut • On right wrist: green cord bracelet with yellow daisy beaded flowers with red centers, looped twice • On right wrist: green and red cloth woven bracelet • On right wrist: two black elastic hair bands • On left wrist: yellow rubber stretch bracelet with the etched words, “LIVESTRONG” • On left wrist: rainbow-colored rubber stretch bracelet with the etched words, “EMBRACE DIVERSITY” • Around the neck: one gold chain with a small heart-shaped red stone • Around the neck: one gold chain with an open gold filigree heart pendant with clear stones encircling the heart • In the left earlobe: one beaded metal earring with dangling turquoise stones in the shape of a stick figure In addition, this woman had extensive and very distinctive dental work, which included upper and lower removable partial dentures with several fillings on her natural teeth. We have uploaded her DNA profile into our national DNA database, and her dental characteristics and x-rays have also been uploaded into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons system (NamUs.gov) for comparison to missing persons throughout the United States. We are hoping that someone may recognize this woman’s distinctive jewelry or remember her longer, curly graying hair. Any information from the public that could help us identify her would be greatly appreciated. No foul play is suspected in this case, but our hope is to find her family and give them closure. The National Missing and Unidentified Persons system (NamUs.gov) is a revolutionary public website where family members of missing loved ones can search for their relatives in our database of unidentified decedents throughout the country. Oregon has over 160 unidentified decedents uploaded into this database and website, and we need the public’s help to begin solving these cases and bringing Oregonians home to their loved ones. Please go to the NamUs website at http://www.NamUs.gov and search for Unidentified Person for more information and additional photographs. If you have information on this case, please contact Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office via the Tip Line 503-988-0560 or Sgt. Gosson via email Lee.Gosson@mcso.us.
