Great to use for backup or connecting desktop hard/ssd drive as external device via USB 3.0 port Inateck sent me this product for testing and it performed well with read speeds of up to 400Mb/sec and write speeds of up to 120Mb/sec using Samsung SSD 830 Series 64GB capacity drive with reduced Write speed which reflects in test results. I also used 2TB Western Digital Green hard drive and on HD Tune got Minimum of 39.7MB/sec, Average of 103.1MB/sec, Maximum of 123.8MB/sec and Burst Rate of 136.9MB/sec. Please note that on some older computers you may not get speed you want even if you use USB 3.0 PCI Card due to PCI Express x1 speed or motherboard limitations. I had to use brand new laptop I just recently bought to provide more realistic results which you could expect from USB 3.0. The product itself is made of aluminium and can operate in the following Operating Systems - XP/Vista/7/8/8.1, Linux/Android, Mac OS 10.3 and higher. In package you receive, the product itself, 1m long USB 3.0 data cable, user manual, 12V/2A Power Adapter, additional rubber pads, screws and even a small screwdriver. To enclose the device you will need to use a few screws so including a screwdriver in the package is a nice bonus and makes sense. You will have to use 12V/2A power adapter to use it and according to manufacturer you can connect all standard 2.5’/3.5’ SATA I/II/III drives up to any capacity (4TB+), I used 2TB drive without any issues so I assume you will be able to connect drives with 4TB and more. It should be noted that it supports UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) and it is downward compatible with USB 2.0/1.1 connections and supports theoretical speeds up to 6 Gigabits/s although maximum what USB 3.0 can squeeze out as far as I know is 5 Gigabits/s which is in abound 500-600Mb/sec range. Overall, hard to dislike this product, cannot see any bad points to be honest, it worked and performed without any issues. One of the things I like is that you can potentially connect hard drives with capacities of 4TB or more which is great to use for backups.
