Ov's video: Super Metroid Any in 41:13 85

Be sure to read the description below for information about this run! This is my third Super Metroid personal best this year, and my 260th completed Any% run of the grind that I started this year. It is an improvement of ~0.2 seconds over my previous personal best of 41:14.0 from October 15th, which was a 5 second improvement over my 41:19.0 from June. This was a rollercoaster of a run, in a sense. So far, this has been my best pace up to Ridley, roughly 8 seconds faster than my previous best pace. Unfortunately, I not only left Ridley with zero Supers, but left Kraid with zero Supers as well, which influenced various attempts to recover the missing ammo, most of which were executed poorly and/or simply not worth the time investment. I lost a lot, lot, lot of time post-Ridley during this run. Ultimately, I somehow managed a completely-improvised 2-Super Botwoon 1-round to keep the run alive. I sparked a little too high on Draygon's third swoop, but recovered as quickly as I could. Finally, I played as aggressively as I felt I could get away with in Tourian, and limped to the finish line, with a marginally faster completion than before. This is still not what I would consider an impressive personal best - it is yet another fast/fast carry in my eyes - but I am proud of myself for genuinely not being nervous at any point prior to Zebes Escape (I do need to work on handling my nervousness better there, though), and for 1-rounding Botwoon despite the game's best efforts to keep Supers out of my hands.
