Ov's video: Super Metroid Any in 41:14 03

Be sure to read the description below for information about this run! This is my second Super Metroid personal best this year, and my 239th completed Any% run of the grind that I started this year. It is an improvement of exactly 5 seconds over my previous personal best of 41:19.0 from June, which was a 13.7 second improvement over my 41:32.7 from April 2019. This five seconds of timesave pretty much happened because of Phantoon. A fast/fast happened this run compared to the fast/mid of my prior personal best. What time I lost to silly midgame nonsense and frustration - such as health bombing myself via a missed jump input in Bowling Alley, and flubbing the Premoat revisit attempt to resolve it by simply not firing a second Missile - was made up by hitting the Wasteland speedball, which my prior personal best missed. I find personal bests like these to be very bittersweet, because it doesn't feel as if the "improvement" was actually as a result of improvement, but regardless, it is a step forward in time, and I cannot argue with that. I really hope to improve upon this run sooner rather than later, but given how long this one took, I'm not expecting it. I completed this run live on Twitch - https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2277241853.
