PIB India's video: Multi-Modal Terminal on National Waterways-1 at Sahibganj Jharkhand

The multi-modal terminal on NW-1 will provide an open gateway to the trading routes of Bay of Bengal and other seas to the land locked state of Jharkhand thus leading to socio-economic development of the region. Salient features of Multi-modal Terminal are : • Location: Sahibganj, Jharkhand, (South Bank of River Ganga) • Capacity: 2.24 MTPA with rail and road connectivity. • Road connectivity: Connected with NH-80 • Rail connectivity: Connected with Sakrigali railway station Public facilities on NW-1 1. Ro-Ro crossings at 5 cities - (Rajmahal-Manichak, Samdaghat- Manihari, Kahalgaon- Tintanga, Hasnapur-Bakhtiyarpur, Buxar- Saraikota) 2. Ferry Service within 6 cities (Patna, Varanasi, Kolkata, Haldia, , Bhagalpur, Mungher) 3. River cruise services- 3 operators with 7 star, 5 star vessels 4.
