As MD and CIO of NRC, he brings an experience of over 27 years across corporate finance, private equity and public market investing having worked with ICICI Ventures & Frontline Ventures before founding NRC in 2008. On the back of 14 years of private equity investing experience, Mr. Daga has been able to catch changing trends early on and convert the same into superior investment themes. Mr. Daga strongly believes in prudently exploiting the judgmental biases and other behavioural weaknesses of market participants at large that often lead to unravelling of attractive investment opportunities from time to time. These include: the tendency of the larger market participants to extrapolate the past too far into the future, to wrongly equate a good company with a good investment irrespective of valuation, leaning heavily on sell side analyst views among others. Mr. Daga’s ‘private equity’ bent of mind and an active network of relationships in the VC/PE eco system has acted as a force multiplier in spotting sunrise sectors / themes early on and capturing huge discovery premium by allowing NRC to invest in many companies before being covered by sell side research and/or big institutional participation.
