Pacific Northwest Transport Hub's video: TEHACHAPI PASS AMTRAK COAST STARLIGHT DETOURS MARCH 2011

[Watch in HD] The first round of Coast Starlight Tehachapi detours lasted from March 23rd-March 31st, 2011. I was out for four nights on the 24th, 25th, 30th, and 31st to catch a few roll-bys. All of them couldn't have turned out better. Included is an awesome horn show from AMTK 154 which was done by request, as you can see. This is Part One. In Part Two, you will see the second round of detours from new, different locations, and hopefully in some daylight. Stay tuned for that and enjoy in HD! Train Info: [TRAIN ONE]: Engine AMTK 88 South leads the train through the Metrolink Station at Via Princessa on a rainy evening at around 11:40pm. [TRAIN TWO]: Engine AMTK 14 South leads the train past the crossing located just north of the Metrolink Station at Via Princessa, Canyon Park Blvd. The train is slowing down to come to a stop at the station to do its 24 hour inspection. [TRAIN TWO AGAIN]: AMTK 14 highballs the train now after a 45 minute stop to perform its 24 hour inspection, inspecting both engine rooms and all the cars, as well as the underside of the locomotives. Due to the recent P42 fires, Amtrak requires an engine room inspection every 24 hours to insure there are no fuel leaks or any other potential problems that could arise. The train left the station 1 minute before it was due into Los Angeles, CA. [TRAIN THREE]: AMTK 201 leads the train past Canyon Park Blvd once again from a different angle with the Silver Splendor at the rear. [TRAIN FOUR]: AMTK 154 leads the train through the station once again with an awesome horn show done by request. In my opinion, this engine has one of the best horns in the roster currently and is by far one of the best roll-bys of 11 I've ever gotten. Thanks for watching!
