@πŸ™ JAI BHOLE KI πŸ™Bhaskargad trek with Save tours and treks on 27th Dec 2020. Kindly read description.
πŸ™ Jai bhole ki πŸ™ Jai Shivrai πŸ™.A very well organised trek by Save tours and treks. Base village is Nirgudpada located at a distance of 170 kms from Mumbai off the Mumbai Nashik highway just after Kasara. Left from Mumbai at 21.30 on the 26th Dec. Stopped enroute at Baba da dhabha at Kasara for snacks and reached base village at 0300 on the 27th. Two hours of sleep in the bus. Wake up call by leader Siddhesh at 5am. Nirgudpada is the base village for Harihar trek too. After freshening up and having our breakfast,we left for Bhaskargad at 6am. Used our headlamps and torches and proceeded. First 2 kms was on a road. Initially a tar road followed by a kuccha road. A small path on the left side led to the fort. A gradual and easy climb on a narrow muddy path. Arrows painted on rocks and placards give the directions. Reached a small plateau at 0645. Stopped to witness sunrise and rest. Kindly note that there are no drinking water sources on the entire trek. Carry atleast 3 litres of water and something to munch. We were a mixed group of all ages and our leaders Siddhesh, Jyotsna and Suprit took very good care of us. Words of encouragement to those who were tired and holding hands of participants who could not climb on their own. Reached the base of the fort at 0750. A huge vertical rock face on the left and steep fall into the valley on our right. The ridge is between 1 to 3 feet in width and has to be crossed very carefully. 30 mins of walking on this narrow flat ridge ends at a spot where steps have been cut out in the solid rock. Steep vertical rock faces on both sides with the steps in between. A little ahead, the steps have been damaged and we had to cross over small boulders. 10 minutes ahead and we were at the entrance to the fort. A small entrance carved out of solid rock. Still intact. A 10 min climb from here and we were on the summit of Bhaskargad. A small summit offering an excellent view of Nagfani, Harihar fort and Bramhagiri (Trimbak range) besides other mountains. On the fort are ruins of a structure, an open air Hanuman temple and plenty of water tanks. The water is not fit for drinking. At the other end of the fort is a flagpost. Altitude of Bhaskargad is about 3,500 feet above sea level and can be reached within 3 hours of trekking. Descending will take about 2 hours. The total to and fro distance from the base village is about 14 kms. I am giving you the details of Save tours and treks for your reference. An excellent group with dedicated leaders. Cell no 8655563635. πŸ™ Har Har Mahadev πŸ™
