Wajah Alun-alun Kota Tegal saat ini sudah berubah total. Bentuknya bukan lagi berupa lapangan dengan rumput hijau, tetapi lebih mirip taman bunga. Revitalisasi tahap pertama alun-alun ini dilengkapi flying deck telah selesai Desember 2020. Kepala Dinas Perumahan dan Kawasan Permukiman Eko menyebut pembangunan Alun-alun tahap pertama secara volume sudah selesai 100 persen sejak Desember 2020. “Sudah sesuai spesifikasi di perencanaan. Anggaran pagunya Rp 10,5 miliar. Untuk tahap kedua Februari 2021 mendatang Rp 3 miliar,” katanya.
