Nasce a Roma la scrittrice Alba De Cespedes. Figlia di madre romana e di Carlos Manuel de Cespedes, ambasciatore di Cuba in Italia, Alba cresce in una famiglia politicamente impegnata e lei stessa raggiunge alla fine della guerra le fila partigiane e fonda “il Mercurio”, un giornale letterario che dirige fino al ‘48. Si trasferisce a Parigi dove muore nel 1997 dopo aver donato le sue carte agli Archivi Riuniti delle Donne a Milano.
