Participant's video: Mindi Messmer WHY WE FIGHT Dark Waters

Mindi’s activism journey began when she realized her family was living in the midst of a cancer cluster (largely affecting children) in her area. The Coakley Landfill and the Pease Airforce Base were found to have leaked the carcinogens causing the cancer cluster. With a background in science, Mindi brought her expertise and activism into government as a state senator, and currently works through the New Hampshire Safe Water Alliance to inspire protection from toxics. Mindi has led these efforts and has had amazing success in NH, but is showing no signs of stopping.
