Unlike my previous guest Chris Vivo, I've not interacted for long enough with Brittany Reeves to call her MY mentor, but she's certainly made a name for herself as an expert instructor (especially in the southwest) given how ferocious and effective her students are. If she and her partner and their students pooled all their tournament medals, they could probably make a decorative mosaic on the wall of their Mesa AZ fencing salle; they're that good. In this episode, I pick Brittany's brain for success strategies and tactics, discuss the ongoing identity crises intrinsic to HEMA as a culture, and attempt to tiptoe around the infinite discussion-landmines that not only surround HEMA but North America and the West in general.
