SF Senator Leland Yee Receives Threats Over Palin Probe Read what the fax says, here is proof that these RepubliCONs/Tea Baggers/McCain & Palin supporters are all racists... The guy that leaves a message kind of sounds like Bush... State Senator Lelan Yee is receiving racially charged threats over an investigation into Sarah Palin's scheduled appearance at CSU Stanislaus. Jonas Tichenor reports. http://cbs5.com/politics/leland.yee.threats.2.1644658.html Apr 20, 2010 6:50 pm US/Pacific SF Senator Receives Threats Over Palin Probe SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5 / AP) ― Sarah Palin's scheduled appearance at a California university is sparking more than just controversy. A state senator who has brought attention to the deal said he has been getting hate messages. San Francisco Senator Leland Yee's office said they have received several faxes and emails with racial slurs, homophobic messages and even threats on the senator's life. His office said the messages have been sent following Yee's call for greater transparency regarding former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's scheduled visit to California State University Stanislaus. The Senate sergeant-at-arms is investigating the threats. Palin is scheduled to speak at a June 25 gala hosted by the foundation to mark the university's 50th anniversary. Yee has been seeking details of Palin's compensation package for several weeks. The university has repeatedly denied public records requests filed by open government group Californians Aware and The Associated Press seeking Palin-related documents. It says contract negotiations were handled by its foundation, which it claims is legally exempt from the California Public Records Act. Palin's fee and accommodations will be covered entirely by private donations, not state funds, foundation board president Matt Swanson has said. Several CSU Stanislaus students said they retrieved a portion of the contract with Palin from a trash bin outside the campus administration building earlier this month. The five-page document included perks such as first-class airfare for two, deluxe hotel accommodations and bottled water with bendable straws. In addition, all audience questions after the speech must be prescreened and posed by a designated representative. CSU Stanislaus president Hamid Shirvani said the document had been taken from a recycling bin inside the office of a vice president who also serves on the foundation board. He has asked police to investigate the alleged theft.
