Summary 4:56 I used the following Nvidia drivers throughout this video, unless specified otherwise: Ubuntu with 375.10 Windows with 375.70 Deus Ex Mankind Divided is running with DirectX11 and DirectX12 in Windows, and on Linux it's running an OpenGL 4 context. MSAA was off for both platforms. This title is already pushing the boundaries of modern gaming hardware, adding MSAA on top of it is unrealistic. Temporal AA was used instead on both. On Windows, power settings are set to High Performance. On Ubuntu, cpufreq is also set to Performance. On Ubuntu and on Windows I utilized the Steam FPS counter to ensure that it calculated the frames the same way. To collect the frametimes and frame logs, I used GLXOSD v3 on Ubuntu and FRAPs on Windows. I was unable to gather frametimes for DX12 as all tools on Windows did not work during my testing (Fraps, MSI afterburner, PrecisionX). Just to clarify, some have privately asked if the recordings were done with a windowed-mode of the game. This is not the case. All benchmarks and recordings were done with the game being in fullscreen mode. The only time I used the windowed-mode in DXMD is to show off the controllers working in Ubuntu. I hope I have not made any mistakes. I took about 3 days to make this video. The tests were redone a number of times to try and normalise the results in the graph as much as possible. Please feel free to share your experience in the comments below, but I do ask that you at least run through the same settings in the benchmark as I have to keep your experience as close as 1:1 to that of my own. This video is recorded at 1080p 60fps. I used the Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4k capture card externally here, so there is NO performance loss on either system due to recording.
