Fractional reserve banking is an economic philosophy that allows banks to lend out significantly more money then they actually have. Like the Housing bubble that popped in 2008, of the Auto bubble that's due to pop any time now, the Fractional Reserve bubble is the mother of all bubbles, and when it pops we, all of us, will be completely and utterly SCREWED. Even more so than we are now. Remember kids, invest in shelf stable food stuffs, several days worth of water (for the whole family!), etc. Create 'go bags' loaded with food/water/clothing/hygiene products/medicine. If you have small children make sure their packs are loaded appropriately. If possible make another set of 'go bags' to be left in the car. Make another set (again, if possible), and leave them hidden somewhere nearby, they should be no more than two miles away. They do no good if you can't get to them. Also make sure you have some light and portable activities for smaller children, such as coloring books. Waterproof sleeping bags are also an essential, even in summer.
