Pennsylvania Environmental Council's video: Tunnel Vision

@Tunnel Vision
The Climax Tunnel was built in the 1870s and remained in use by the Allegheny Valley Railroad until 2010, when the 51-mile Driftwood Low-Grade Corridor was acquired and transformed into a multi-use trail. The years had not been kind to the tunnel. Its original brickwork were crumbling, and its portals had begun to sag. But thanks to the hard work of the Redbank Valley Trails Association and partners, it’s been rebuilt and is almost ready to welcome trail users. When the Climax Tunnel officially opens this summer, it will mark the closing of one of the state’s most critical long-distance trail gaps. PEC will co-host the grand opening celebration August 18th in New Bethlehem. Free refreshments will be provided for those who RSVP, so sign up now!
