I needed a personal challenge. Sailing solo from Newport, RI, to Bermuda, was definitely out of my comfort zone, and I wasn't sure if it was a good idea. My goal was to get there in one piece and to find out what happens in my head when I'm alone in the ocean. It was an amazing experience and I hope to do more solo sailing/racing.
