http://www.phenomenalplace.com Meadowcroft Rockshelter is an archaeological site which also an oldest site of human habitation. It is located near Avella in Jefferson Township, Pennsylvania. Meadowcroft Rockshelter has a museum and a reconstruction of a circa 1570s Monongahela Culture Indian village. The most popular activity here is that visitors can try their hand at using an atlatl, a spear thrower (stick arrow) used by Native Americans for hunting and knowing about the traditional Three Sisters Gardening, corn pounding, barns and other farm equipment. Visitors can also enter the wigwam and explore the materials used to built them.
