PhiI93's video: Neil Young s Hey Hey My My Live Cover w Solos

@Neil Young's Hey Hey My My Live Cover w/Solos
This is my attempt at trying to recreate that brilliant Hey Hey My My tone at low volumes. To give you an idea of how low it is, if you just isolate the solos, you can hear the acoustic strings being picked up by the microphone. I think the belle epoch (no delay at all, just the preamp), vapor trail and immerse are really crucial to get the vibe of this at low volumes, because they give an almost 3d effect to the sound and make it feel like you're playing much louder. And just a general depth to the sound. I could probably have got it more broken by cranking the bass of various pedals and adding another pedal but this will have to do for now. If you like it and have any questions feel free to ask. I'm very new to recording/mixing, still not sure what all the db levels should be, sounds better with headphones For anyone interested my signal chain is: Fender Baja Telecaster Tc Spark Boost with mid switch engaged SolidGoldFX Communication Breakdown Fuzz - right channel, fuzz on full and bias on full (amazing pedal) Caitlanbread Naga Viper Treble Booster (a secret ingredient, I think everyone needs a TB, they sound huge and fat ;) ;) Wampler Tweed 57 - linked channel, bass full, mid full, treble 12, gain full (also an amazing pedal that I was very lucky to purchase recently). Transforms my amp into a very authentic tweed amp. Also does beautiful vintage clean tones. Seymour Duncan Vapor Trail - mix around 9 Caitlanbread Belle Epoch Deluxe - just the preamp. Fantastic pedal. Neil has a proper Echoplex and that's a big part of getting this sound Neunaber Immerse Mk1 Laney LC15r - totally clean, flat EQ. Mic'd with a Shure SM57 and Rhode NT1A
