Right, according to her account, she took her two kids to a Michael’s craft store in California to get stuff for holiday gifts. But inside, a man and a woman followed them around the store, and she heard him describing her children’s physical features, possibly to someone on the phone. Then the couple stood in line behind her, despite not buying anything, and when she left, they followed. With the man allegedly reaching out as if to grab her stroller, causing her to scream. At which point the couple fled to their car and took off. So Katie reports this to the police, then tells the story to over 4.5 million people on Instagram. But the cops were surprised that her online story included way more details than her police report, so they looked further into it. And discovered that both the statements of the suspects and surveillance footage flatly contradict her account.
