What do you start with when you're planning and outlining a novel - plot? Character? World-building? To clarify some stuff I said in this: I don't think Story Genius was to blame for my poor character arcs; I think I failed to carry through its principles properly. I needed something more specific - a kind of step-by-step for how a character arc might develop, and I think I have found it in the K.M Weiland technique.
