@Liszt: Années de pèlerinage

Liszt transformed the way we listen to music: he was the inventor of the solo piano recital positioning the piano, with lid open, parallel to the audience; pioneer of the master class and themed music festival; originator of the symphonic poem and restless experimenter. Années de pèlerinage is widely considered as the masterwork and summation of Liszt's musical style. Much of it derives from his earlier work, Album d'un voyageur, his first major published piano cycle. Enrico Pace was born in Rimini, Italy. He studied piano with Franco Scala both at the Rossini Conservatory, Pesaro, where he graduated in conducting and composition and later at the Accademia Pianistica Incontri col Maestro, Imola. Winning the Utrecht International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in 1989 marked the beginning of his international career.
