Piero Sini's video: Ch teau L oville Barton with Lilian Barton-Sartorius 067

@Château Léoville Barton with Lilian Barton-Sartorius #067
Château Léoville-Barton (Saint Julien) is one of the best in Bordeaux and owned by the Irish-born wine merchant family Barton. The owner, Anthony Barton, is an original and one of the grand seigneurs of Bordeaux. A lot of anecdotes are known by him. The best known is probably "A magnum bottle? Just the right size for a nice evening. Assuming you start with a champagne, you end the menu with a sauternes, and you're home alone ... ". That's the very first time I shot in Bordeaux and yes, I was super excited when the Château had confirmed, that I could make this video with Anthony´s daughter Lilian Barton-Sartorius (December 5. 2012). FEATURED WINES --- LA RÉSERVE DE LÉOVILLE BARTON Country: France Wine region: Bordeaux Vintage: 2008 Classification: A.O.C. St-Julien Variety: Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet franc Deep garnetred colored. Offers a great combination of power and finesse, with bold aromas of cassis, blackberries and Turkish mocha that lead to big but ripe tannins and a mouth-watering acidity. Juicy and medium-bodied. The wine expands on the palate and comes with a beautiful finish. Best from 2014 through 2020+ (December 2012). 91 PS *** CHÂTEAU LANGOA BARTON 2011 Country: France Wine region: Bordeaux Vintage: 2011 Classification: A.O.C. St-Julien Variety: Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet franc Blend of Cabernet sauvignon 63%, Merlot 34% and Cabernet franc 3%. This is a very approachable Langoa. Shows density, structure and drive with seriously dark chocolate, cassis, blackberries and fig flavors. Really female-like. The juiciness is extraordinary. Medium-bodied. Features fine and supple tannins with a refreshing acidity and followed by a light mineral edge on the finish. Curious to retaste the wine once it has been bottled (December 2012). 92 PS *** CHÂTEAU LÉOVILLE BARTON 2011 Country: France Wine region: Bordeaux Vintage: 2011 Classification: A.O.C. St-Julien Variety: Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet franc Cabernet sauvignon 80%, Merlot 15% and Cabernet franc 5%. Dark garnet-red colored. A little bit shy and shows hesitantly its elegance, depth and complexity. Interwoven with cassis, blackberries, herbs, eucalyptus, dark chocolate and mocha. With a juicy and supple beginning, before it starts to expand to the back of the palate. A mouth-watering acidity with my holly Maserati-like tannins. Lingering minerality features a long finish. Who said 2011 can´t do it? Start from 2018 through 2035 (December 2012). 94 PS Follow me!
