Pietro Pecco's video: McLaren MP4-16 - Kimi R ikk nen - 2001

@McLaren MP4-16 - Kimi Räikkönen - 2001
The McLaren MP4-16 is a Formula 1 single-seater built by the car manufacturer McLaren, to participate in the 2001 Formula 1 World Championship. The car used a Mercedes-Benz FO 110K engine with the usual 72º inclined V10 configuration and managed by a seven-speed sequential gearbox, while the chassis was in a carbon fiber monocoque configuration. The braking system consisted of four ventilated disc brakes. The former world champion Mika Häkkinen and David Coulthard were confirmed driving the MP4-16. The MP4-16, in the team's plans, was to represent the redemption car capable of regaining the world titles that Ferrari had won in the previous season. Häkkinen in particular, lacking the prestigious number 1 passed into the hands of Michael Schumacher, was eager for revenge after the hard-fought 2000. The Mclaren, however, turned out to be inferior to the F2001, despite obtaining the first victory in Brazil with Coulthard: then it came close to victory with Häkkinen in Spain, who saw poker fade on the Catalan circuit (on which the Finn had triumphed in the three previous editions) due to an engine failure on the last lap, giving the victory to Schumacher. A new success was obtained in Austria, again with Coulthard, while he could do nothing in Monaco, against a Ferrari double, and not even in Canada. Häkkinen returned to victory only at Silverstone, breaking a personal fast that had lasted since the 2000 Belgian Grand Prix. The last success of the Anglo-German car took place in Indianapolis in what was the last career victory for Häkkinen, who announced his withdrawal at the end of the season. In Japan the season of this single-seater came to an end, which was defeated on several occasions by the Italian F2001. At the end of the season, McLaren finished second in the constructors' classification.
