@Pilot Requirements and Selections (1/10) How to Become a Pilot Series
How to Become a Pilot?!πŸ§‘πŸ½β€βœˆοΈπŸ›© Part 1: Pilot Requirements! How do you know if you got what it takes to become a pilot? Find the general restrictions below, though these may vary per country, flight school and airline. Length: 1.58 - 2.03 m πŸ“ Eyes: Glasses or contact lenses are allowed, but with a maximum deviation of -6 to +5. πŸ‘ Colour blindness is generally not allowed, but in case of doubt: Do a medical test at an Aeromedical Centre. 🌈 Pre-Education: High school level of English, Physics and Mathematics. πŸ“š In general, flight school selections consist of: Written tests for English, Physics and Mathematics πŸ“ Aptitude tests (abstract, verbal and numerical reasoning, spatial orientation and accuracy, speed and attention tests) 🧩 Flying capability test in simulator πŸ’Ί Psychological test 🧠 Personal interview πŸ—£ Medical examination at an Aeromedical Centre. πŸ₯ The aptitude tests you can practice on a website as 123test.com and it really helps to improve in preparation for your flight school selection. πŸ’ͺ🏼 For the flying capability test in the simulator, you don’t necessarily have to practice beforehand. They don’t expect you to know everything about airplanes and you don’t need to fly flawless. All they want to see is how quick you understand instructions and apply what they just taught you. It’s actually much fun, don’t worry! 😊 The medical certificate requirements are standard for the Aviation Authority per region. In Europe for example, there is the EASA standard Class I medical that all commercial pilots need to have. πŸ₯ The initial Class I medical consists of: ECG πŸ’“ Lung function test 🌬 Hearing test πŸ‘‚ Eye sight test πŸ‘ Blood test πŸ’‰ Urine test πŸ”¬ Physical examination 🩺 Written psychological test πŸ“ If you pass all tests, you will get your very first Class I medical certificate. An important step in your journey to become a pilot! πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€βœˆοΈ I would suggest to not start any course before having your medical Class I certificate, because if for some reason you are not given the medical certificate, you may lose a lot of money for the courses you have already paid and/or attended. Comment below if you have a question! Tomorrow’s topic is how to find a suitable flight school! 🏫 πŸ›¬
