Homemade Kerala Papad Recipe | Urad dal papad | Kerala Pappadam | Kitchen Hacks | Tips and Tricks @pinkskitchen Welcome to Pinks Kitchen, my food blogging channel. Today lets check out how to make papad at home. Summer is ON and you can try all these types of recipes and you can preserve till the next summer. This is very easy to make and an healthier option, so lets quickly check out the ingredients and get started. 2. To a mixer jar, add 1 cup of urad dhal. Grind this to a very fine powder. Sieve and transfer to a mixing bowl. To this add 1/2 tsp of salt and 1/2 tsp of baking soda. Give it a quick mix. 3. Then to this add 2 tbsp of water and mix it well. It will be very hard to mix, but that is how it should be. Once you get all the ingredients as a lump add 1 tbsp of gingelly oil and mix well again. 4. Now transfer it to a board and hit it hard with a pestle or any hard object. Hit for at least 5 minutes to make the dough a little soft. 5. After 5 minutes of continuous hitting the dough is a little soft now. 6. Sprinkle some flour in the rolling board. Pull out a small portion and start to roll it into a very thin sheet. Need not mind about the shape. Now using a cookie cutter make a cut. 7. Sundry the papad for 5 minutes and our papad will be ready to use. 8. After 5 minutes, heat sufficient amount o foil in an iron pot. When the oil is hot, add the papad one by one and fry in high flame. Flip sides and immediately remove from the oil before it changes color. 9. Now our delicious homemade papad is ready to enjoy. Serve it with some steamed rice and enjoy with your family and friends. Store it in an air tight container and you can enjoy for 1 year time. Very easy, healthy and an instant recipe, so do try this papad recipe at your home and write back to me your feedback. 10.
