@Learn how to speak Japanese for Retro Game shopping in Japan and Online - Part 2
日本でレトロゲームの買い物のために大切な日本語を練習しましょう!パート2いくそう! Let's practice important Japanese for retro game shopping in Japan Part 2! Most topics to do with retro game shopping in Japan focus on looking at the stores, pulling items off the shelf and then a review of what was picked up, nothing wrong in that, I do it myself. However, what if you want to come to Japan for a holiday, vacation, business trip etc. and whilst here do a spot of retro game shopping; but you don't know enough Japanese or any to be able to be as effective as you want to be. In this video I cover some more basic words and vocabulary for things we know as retro gamers and want to check when buying a game, and how to use them in natural Japanese sentences that are polite and clear to understand. Not only that I cover some of the responses you may hear from tenin-san (clerks, shop assistants) so you can understand what they are saying back! And not to be satisfied with that I even tell you some of the most natural ways you can pause for time, stutter and give yourself a moment to think when trying to recall phrases or make a decision in natural Japanese ways. ***Series Overview and Hint Sheet Download:*** I have lived and worked in Japan for 3 years; and whilst I am no Japanese scholar; I have learned enough to be able to say with a great deal of confidence how to communicate effectively whilst shopping here in Japan and that extends to retro game shopping. In this series of videos I will help you understand both how to ask, and how to understand the replies to these topics: - Being able to see an item properly - Where something is - Expressing an interest in something - What the condition of an item is Instead of overwhelming you with the possible Japanese you will hear back I concentrate on phrases that will enable you to use your eyes when shopping here in Japan. That way you can shop with a good degree of confidence! Throughout this series I will also share 6 bargains I have picked up in Japan since moving here in 2020, and how this connects to the Japanese we have been looking at in the respective video. I have also created a hint sheet which folds up into your pocket which Patrons and Kofi donors can get exclusive access to from as little as a one off donation or an ongoing $2 or more monthly contribution; which helps support me as an artist here in Japan. ***Patreon Japanese Retro Game Shopping Hint Sheet Download:*** https://www.patreon.com/posts/new-video-for-2-82260086 ***Kofi (just send me a message with your donation requesting the sheet):*** https://ko-fi.com/pixel_vixen How does this support me? It helps me afford art supplies, my time that I spend creating my manga Future Saviors that I release for free; and also the costs associated with keeping my working hours down so that I can spend more time being creative than chained to a desk. I *don't use* Patreon or Kofi money to buy retro games, I pay for those from my own day job wages. Patreon/Kofi is all about building my future as a manga artist. I hope you enjoy this video! -- You can read my debut manga Future Saviors for free here: https://linktr.ee/futuresaviors You can help support the channel, artwork and my manga Future Saviors in many ways: *Patreon:* https://patreon.com/pixel_vixen from $2 a month *Ko-fi:* https://ko-fi.com/pixel_vixen *Future Saviors, Retro Gaming & Japan Merch/Photos on RedBubble Store*: https://tinyurl.com/y543sbsy *Instagram*: https://www.instagram.com/stories/pixel_vixen_in_japan *Tees on Amazon including Future Saviors merch, the Amiga, Super Nintendo/Famicom, Mega Drive, Commodore 64 and more pixel art designs:* UK: https://tinyurl.com/y4bmp9x9 USA: https://tinyurl.com/y3url56k DE: https://tinyurl.com/y52plesh FR: https://amazon.fr/dp/B08JJ485KM IT: https://amazon.it/dp/B08JJ4MMB5 ES: https://amazon.es/dp/B08JJ5QMSK Sorry - not all countries I'd like to offer them through are supported yet by Amazon.
