Vix in Japan's video: How to create urban suburban Anime scenes and backgrounds with color pencil

@How to create urban/suburban Anime scenes and backgrounds with color pencil
In this (non-narrated) video I take you through the steps I take to create anime inspired scenes and background art with just ink and color pencil. Featuring my OC Saki Endo from my manga Future Saviors, I created a scene in the fictional neighborhood of Nishi Nerima (West Nerima) in Nerima Ward, Tokyo. Not wishing the spoil the story, but Saki will be spending a lot of time in the neighborhood. You can read the story so far for free here: http://tinyurl.com/fsmanga I decided not to narrate this video as it may be distracting and couching what I had to say to the steps of the video didn't work for me this time, plus I didn't record every moment of this scene's creation, just snippets. This is because I find recording the entirety of what I do quite invasive! My process involves using Copic Multiliner, and color pencils. Personally I use a mixture of Mitsubishi 880 and Uni range pencils, as well as Holbein and Sanford Karismacolor (Prismacolor) pencils that are readily available in Japan. I recommend wax based pencils (Mitsubishi Uni/880) for finer details and oil based pencils for the scene itself when blending becomes more important. Other recommended oil based pencil brands include Caran D'ache and Faber-Castell Polychromos. I use a local store for my supplies. The Karismacolor pencils I use are PC903, PC916, PC935, PC997, PC941, PC947, PC1063, PC1061, PC936, PC938. The Mitsubishi 880's I use are the standard 36 color set and Uni pencils are random ones I buy. The range is here: https://catalog.mpuni.co.jp/index_h5.html I want to pay a special thanks to Ryota Hayashi (林亮太), whose work has inspired me so much to learn how to create rich street and everyday Japan scenes. His work is out of this world and I urge you to check his work out: https://theendearingdesigner.com/secret-of-color-pencil-photos -- I believe he is also on Facebook but I don't use it. -- You can read my debut manga Future Saviors for free here: https://linktr.ee/futuresaviors You can help support the channel, artwork and my manga Future Saviors in many ways: *Patreon:* https://patreon.com/pixel_vixen from $2 a month *Ko-fi:* https://ko-fi.com/pixel_vixen *Future Saviors, Retro Gaming & Japan Merch/Photos on RedBubble Store*: https://tinyurl.com/y543sbsy *Instagram*: https://www.instagram.com/stories/pixel_vixen_in_japan *Tees on Amazon including Future Saviors merch, the Amiga, Super Nintendo/Famicom, Mega Drive, Commodore 64 and more pixel art designs:* UK: https://tinyurl.com/y4bmp9x9 USA: https://tinyurl.com/y3url56k DE: https://tinyurl.com/y52plesh FR: https://amazon.fr/dp/B08JJ485KM IT: https://amazon.it/dp/B08JJ4MMB5 ES: https://amazon.es/dp/B08JJ5QMSK Sorry - not all countries I'd like to offer them through are supported yet by Amazon.
