Vix in Japan's video: Japan Road Trip 2022 and Philosophy Part 3: The meaning of purpose and life - Shiga to Shimane

In this third video in my series "Journey Down Japan", my road trip over spring 2022 continues. I started from Iwate Prefecture and in this video cam covering the leg from Nagahama City in Shiga Prefecture to Matsue City in Shimane Prefecture, a total of around 500km on non tolled routes. Whilst the weather was at times very wet there was some nice coastal scenery at times. In this video I hope to show you the sights of the road trip but also a little bit more of my thoughts on how life is panning out and what living in Japan is teaching me. In this video I discuss purpose in life and the confusion that surrounds finding purpose, and how searching for purpose and meaning in life will lead you down a path of a lack of contentment. Instead, I feel we should shape our lives around our own natural leanings and not act with fear when we do so, just because so much of our societies is geared towards using us for the economic machine rather than for our own good at times. Building on the basis of freedom, I ask the question, what is purpose in life and if we don't have purpose or don't need it, then what should be instead. Over the course of these videos I hope to explore how I have come to understand life, and learned to let go of seeking answers and finalities in a world that has precious few. By letting go, I've seen that life can take on a much more joyous and personally rewarding perspective that can only in turn spread much positive to those we love and hold dear in our lives. Places covered in this video include Shiga, Fukui, Kyoto, Hyogo, Tottori and Shimane Prefectures and covers the journey from Japan's largest inland lake Lake Biwa, to ancient castle city Matsue on the Pacific Coast of western Japan.
