@Receiving 518 mhz Navtex and HF Weatherfax on shortwave, Using fldigi and Yaesu ftdx1200 radio
Receiving and decoding Navtex and Weatherfax New Orleans. Using fldigi and Yaesu ftdx1200 radio. Navtex 518 was actually tuned in at 517.4khz on the upper side band. Weatherfax is not as clear as it could be under great conditions but certainly readable. Weatherfax was received on 8.502.2 mhz on upper side band mode. Really cool ways to receive weather information using a shortwave radio or ham radio transceiver when it may not be available through other means. Also check out my video on decoding NOAA weather Satellites on 137 mhz. Antenna used for receiving the Navtex and Weatherfax is a home made 80 meter off center fed dipole with feed point at 41.6 percent. Music by Neffex
